Elections often throw up the most ridiculous posters and leaflets. In the East of England, two Tories have been left red-faced by inappropriate use of their names. Business Minister and West Suffolk Conservative candidate Matthew Hancock is unlikely to suffer the ignomy of not being returned to Parliament – West Suffolk is a fairly safe seat. But he has been a laughing stock after his leaflet was folded rather inappropriately.
And then there is Chelmsford Tory candidate Simon Burns – whose fued with Mr Speaker has been so amusing – who apparently takes a particular hardline with his fellow Conservatives. Indeed, when I saw this poster my reaction was… he does WHAT to them?
